Jeremiah Jones is a graduate from The University of Texas at Arlington where he was involved in performing with the marching drumline under the direction of Dr. Jim Yakas, various percussion ensembles with Dr. Michael Varner, and was an integral part of the percussion sections of the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Orchestras. In addition to his percussion studies, he often subbed in on drum set for various jazz ensembles and performances. Previous to attending UTA, Mr. Jones was a member of the jazz band at Weatherford College where he studied both drumset and piano.
In 2011, Mr. Jones marched snare drum for the Blue Knights Drum & Bugle Corps and consecutively marched tenors for the Cavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps the following season. Mr. Jones was also a member of the Tyler Junior College Indoor Drumline in 2011, and was a staff member teaching both snares and quads for the 2014 and 2015 seasons, as well as being a tenor technician for Vigilantes Indoor Percussion.
Mr. Jones has experience teaching a variety of schools in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and is beyond excited to bring his passion for teaching down to the Brazoswood HS area. He will be entering his 7th year at Brazoswood HS.
Some of his mentors include Dr. Michael Varner, Dr. Jim Yakas, Dr. Brian Tinkel, Joey Qualls, Eddie Dunlap, Tom McGowan, Tim Maynard, Eric Ridenour, Nick Beaudet, Ralph Hardimon, Richard Kearns, and Michael Mcintosh.
